How to build an IIS Web Server

Have you ever wanted to run your own web server? Do you have a great web page you would like to share with the world? Want to host your own BitTorrent server? Or maybe you want to have your own podcast or internet radio station. Maybe you just want to test your web pages to make sure everything works right before you upload it to your hosting provider. All this and more is possible with Microsofts Internet Information Service (IIS.) In this guide, I will show you how to create your own web server using Windows XP Professional and IIS.

For this guide, I'm going to assume that you have a computer running Windows XP Pro and want to use MySQL and PHP on your web pages. Later, I'll write another guide on how to do the same thing with Apache (which will run on almost any operating system.)
